ENVOQ BIO

Envoq (In-voke) best describes his style of music as alternative rap, usually following that up with “I’m not a rapper, I’m a Viber.” He attributes his style to his unique background and doesn’t miss a chance to remind people that his essence cannot be defined or boxed in. Moving back and forth between the East and West coast as a child, Envoq’s music captures the best of both worlds with his seamless combination of Southern hip-hop flows similar to Goodie Mob with the animated “in-yo-face” West Coast rap style of Spice 1 and E-40. Other influences include out-of-this-world sounds by DJ Quik, The Police, and 3-6 Mafia.

Lately, he has been vibing with his African influences, and this is reflected in his recent music. As an athlete for more than half his life, Envoq’s tireless energy is felt in every track, and there’s no getting him off a stage once he hits it.

From childhood, Envoq has always created music. Starting with beat-making, followed by recording music with friends for fun (which came as a natural progression), to taking his songwriting seriously in 2018 when his knack for creating catchy songs gained him much attention on social media. Winter of 2019, Envoq released his first single, “Utopia,” on all platforms and declared himself an artist. The project’s popular reception came as a shock and motivated him even more, to create timeless music with an original sound.

As a father of three, Envoq makes music for everyday people going through everyday things - from finding yourself, falling in and out of love to manifesting your dreams. He wants listeners to feel connected and seen, but most importantly, alive when tuning into Envoq’s frequency. In his last EP, Evolution of Ego, he ingeniously emotes the evolution of becoming a man, taking you on a trip from the illusory ideas of what makes a man, landing you on a new plane that faces the responsibility of authentic manhood; this is one unmissable project.
His newest project “Buffalo Man” is a fusion of black and African heritage, such as Afrobeats, soul, and hip hop.
